The course FAM 528 is built to deal with water quality and pollution, factors that influence water quality, environment indicators of water quality. The study also covers water quality test procedures and the different water treatment methods.
Course Guidelines and materials, Open/Close times
This online course is built on a bi-weekly framework of material. Notes and class recordings will typically be posted during the week. Assignments may be completed and submitted at any time during the week they are due.
Posted course materials, including slide for the lectures, and recordings of the synchronous lectures, will remain open throughout the month. In this fashion, students who are unable to attend the lectures for technical or personal reasons, such as unexpected difficulties with information technology, personal or family illness, or the need to become a family caretaker, will have access to all the same class materials as students who attend the lectures.

Week 2: Friday, 30/04 (9pm – 10pm): Factors that influence water quality
Week 3: Friday, 14/05 (8pm – 9pm): Water quality test procedures
Week 4: Monday, 17/05 (9pm – 10pm): Water treatment method: – primary
Week 5: Thursday, 20/5 (8pm – 10pm): Water treatment continuous: secondary and complete
Week 6: Thursday, 27/05 (9pm – 11pm): Revision
Hostclass: We will use Hostclass (https://learn.hostclass.net) as a remote classroom response system. You must register and pay an access fee to make use of the Hostclass Virtual Classroom.
Assignments and Examination:
There will be one assignment, one virtual quiz and an exam at the end of the course. Notice shall be given for quiz and exam. Assignments would be submitted electronically and within the stipulated time. Extension will not be accepted except on some special consideration duly given by Mr. Aloysius.

The course will be graded on the scale:
• virtual classroom attendance = 5%
• quiz = 15%
• assignment and participation =10%
• shall be based on examination = 70%
